Silver Sands Announces Hire of New Marketing Coordinator
Miramar Beach, Fla. (January 10, 2012) – Silver Sands Factory Stores is pleased to announce the hire of Shaye Smith as Marketing Coordinator for Silver Sands, the nation’s largest designer outlet center located in Destin, FL. Smith will be responsible for supporting and assisting in the coordination of all aspects of marketing for the designer outlet center.
“Shaye brings a wealth of knowledge and versatility to our marketing team,” said Ashley Watkins, Marketing Director for Silver Sands. “Her energy, education and experience in marketing will be a real asset as we venture into our 20th Anniversary year at Silver Sands.”
Smith studied marketing and public relations at Auburn University, where she graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts. After graduation, Smith relocated to Destin and accepted a position with eLead Digital where she handled online marketing and graphic design. “When the Marketing Coordinator position opened at Silver Sands, we immediately thought of Shaye,” commented Watkins. “She previously interned with our sister property Grand Boulevard at Sandestin® and her creativity, proactive nature and vibrant personality was infectious. We knew she would be a perfect fit for the Marketing Coordinator position.”
Smith is actively involved in the community through her work with non-profit organizations such as Destiny Worship Center where she is involved in the choir, youth ministry, young adult ministry and community outreach programs. She also does freelance work for Force4Compassion, a non-profit dedicated to preserving and providing hope for victims of human trafficking.
“I’ve always wanted to work in an industry that is fast paced, modern, and constantly evolving,” commented Smith. “Silver Sands provides that perfect combination where I am able to utilize my background in event planning, entertainment, fashion, promotion and marketing.
